1971 Eriba Puck Restoration - Front & Rear Hatch Repairs
Vince Ordonez
In preparation of headliner install I wanted to test fit the front and rear hatches. When I pulled the hatches from storage they were in bad shape. They needed new bases, a good cleaning and new vinyl for the top of the hatches.
I cut out the new bases and installed them, added additional bracing to the hatches, then restored the wood finish and finally installed new vinyl for the top of the hatches.
I added padding to the vinyl to make it sturdy and for additional insulation.
I am really happy with the the way the wood came out. I used Restore-A-Finish

to clean and refresh the wood followed up with their wax treatment. The wood was so dry it sucked in the finish and now looks refreshed.
